Its Banksy!

Banksy in on youtube! It's hard for me to describe why Banksy is one of the most awesome modern artists in the world, But he really is! Its almost impossible to describe the rush that I get looking at his work, because it is something that only other graffiti artists can truly appreciate. I mean, anybody can look at the work, and get the message behind it, and even understand that time and thought went into designing the art that they are looking at. But there is a rush that comes with actually doing something like this. I have jumped out of airplanes, back packed through 3 continents(I graduated at 16 and I took a year off after my first year in college to figure myself out a little bit!), and have been in more fights (planned matches and tournaments only [well mostly{I used to have a little man's complex}]) than I can remember. Yet I have never been able to top the rush that I get whenever I put up an "RGB" original on my favorite flood control walls! Though this is a phase that I have long since grown out of, it is fun to look at a banksy and reminisce...
This man has the ability to amaze me every time I see what he has done! Even though, he has become completely commercial now, and some would argue that he has become the antithesis of what he once represented, everybody deserves to sell out at some point. I am young enough to stick my nose up to all things commercial, but I am also old enough to know that one day we all need to make a living! He is creative and thought provoking, and a complete mystery to everybody in the world! That is the most awesome thing in the world to me! It's like he's a super hero, but 1,000 times cooler! My ultimate dream would be to meet him for 5 minutes, shake his hands, and then babble for the entire time about how I am the biggest fan that he has ever had! Then I would get all weird and uncomfortable to be around when I start with my speech on how I really "get" him. Because we think alike and that we could be really good friends because we have similar taste, and a cacophony of other weird stalker like statements.
This is a short news report on one of the coolest men on the planet! Artistically second only to Eddie. I hope that everybody enjoys!

I love this infatuation that you have with Banksy! I think that everybody needs somebody that they can completely idolize! I respect the fat that you can gush about somebody the way that you do. A lot of times people feel like they are to cool to get all excited about something that they really enjoy. This is a good quality that you posess, but I guess that you have a million of them! I read what your friend Tyler said about your last monday and I think that you have to be one of the most genuine people to be around. You rock!

At first I wasn't really wowed by the things that you have posted belonging to Banksy, but after watching that little entertaintment news story, I see what is so special about this guy. He has this entire cult following, and he is a HUGE mystery. I think that its pretty itneresting that you are so young and have done so much with your life already I have never been outside of the US, but I have been to over 40 states! So atleast that is something. I completely respect this Banksy infatuation that you have now. This guy is the kind of guy that I could get obsessive about if only I wasn't devoting my entire heart and will to live to Brad Pitt! Maybe in another life it can be all about Banksy.

This is a cute little fascination that you have. I just want to pinch your cheeks right now! This Banksy guy is pretty neat. I think that you have chosen an awesome guy to idolize, you definitely are a unique soul. I have always wanted to go sky diving! IS it fun? Or is it just completely scary>>?? I also used to take martial arts, but I have issues with sparring because when other people try and hit me I freak out and can't deal with that. Throwing a punch isn't that big of a deal, but taking one is something different all together! You are obviously a hell off a lot tougher than I am. thanks for sharing Banksy, I am a fan now.

I was just curious to know what countries that you have been to. I love traveling also! I wish that I would have done more of it when I was younger, then I would have had more stamina to do all the things that I am doing now. That way I woul dhave more time and not have to take so many naps! I actually just got back from Barcelona, I love that city, it is so beautiful. Europe in general just gives you a sense of how new our country really is.

I am very intrigued by all of this world traveling that you have done! Not many parents let their 17 year old children off to galavant around the globe! Especially not in a post 9/11 world. I wonder what your parents were thinking to allow you to do something like this. But hey , they let you, and it seems like your world travels have given you a voice to speak your mind. I like what you ahve to say, and now I know that you have actual substance to back up a lot of what you are saying, because you have been places.

This Banksy guy is cool, but I would like to hear more about your travels around the world! It sounds like an awesome time. I bet that you got to see and do a lot of very amazing things. I can't wait to read about your adventures aroundt he world!

Yeah I have to agree with most of the people that have left comments. Banksy is cool, but I want to hear about your adventures around the world! Was it in 80 days?? Did you run into any problems!? What were some of your most memorable moments?? Besides that, I used to love to fight a lot also, you sound like you used to be a little hell raiser! How the hell did U end up graduationg so early??

There is sooo much to comment on! My brain is on overload! First I think that it is great that you had so much fun with the important people in your life yesterday. Secondly I really enjoyed that give of the forklift donuts! I couldn't stop laughing because it just reminded me of a time when i was able to be that careless, and I realized that there is no reason for me to not cut loose and have random fun like that. I wanted to thank you for that. Next, This Banksy guy that you are shoving down your readers throats all the time, I get why you think he is awesome. he deffinitely has this air about his work that would inspire a rebellious yound adult like yourself. I would not go so far as to call him an artist as much as I would call him a social critic that expresses his views through pictures. I am sorry I don't mean to knock what you value soo much, its just, graffiti is not art! Call me old fashion, but a wall is not a proper medium in which to express yourself. Last I would just like to say that I think that its great that you have been all over the world. You must have all sorts of interesting views and you must have experienced so many things. Keep on growing and experiencing, maybe the rambling of an old fart like me are completely wrong. But until somebody gets in my face and proves my old way wrong, I am sticking with my view on Banksy. But besides that, I love your blog, and I thinnk that you are an intelligent and witty young man. Keep up the hard work.

I have a hard time understanding british people! Who the hell taught the how to speak english!? Can you please explain to me where the hell the "r" comes from in the word "idea"!! Those people are insane!! Something needs to be done about the way they are butchering this AMERICAN Language! hahaha! jk. I love Banksy, this guy is always doing something that gets everybody to pay attention, but in a quiet and refined british way. I also think that you are a pretty good artistm and maybe you don't think much of yourself, because you compare yourself to artists that have very different styles than you do. I love your blog, you rock out loud!

I'm becoming a Banksy fan since you introduced we readers to him. I Googled him and checked his website at http://www.banksy.co.uk -- other sites, as well. Some interesting paintings (which in no way look like graffiti) along with sketches and films and, of course, graffiti! Ben and others should try going to http://www.banksy.co.uk/indoors/02.html if they want something thought-provoking that would not be considered graffiti; then, keep an open mind and check out the rest.

Really some cool stuff!!
